Uber partners with KIA and offers N5000 off first rides

Uber has partnered with Kia Motors Corp to reduce the down payment for vehicles and is also offering N5000 off all first rides with the promo code Kia Rides. This positive development should now reduce the initial cost for new partners and allow them get a vehicle from as low as N95000 per month.

This should in turn look to boost the number of drivers on the Uber platform by fivefold to an estimated 3000 at the of 2016. Since its launch in Lagos, a year ago, Uber has created more than 600 job opportunities and in an interview with the GM of Uber for Sub Saharan Africa, “that’s really just the beginning”. 

Partners on the Uber platform can make up to N100,000 a week. Partners can either drive themselves or hire a new driver from trusted driver agencies. Uber is set to capitalize on Nigeria’s large population and its potentials as a commercial hub on the African continent.
